WE FINISH 20th
Any hope that we might make a triumphal departure from our Step 3 status was over by half time as visitors Lewes took a 17th minute lead and had doubled it by halftime; and doubled it again in the second half to inflict a 4-0 defeat on us. All credit to our wonderfully loyal supporters for although in our previous three home League games we had scored none and conceded 14 the gate for this "goodbye Step 3" game was an impressive 532 and they remained cheerfully supportive right to the end. We now await the decision of the FA as to the League and Division in which we will play next season - Isthmian North, Isthmian South-Central or Southern Division 1 Central........BUT THE SEASON IS NOT OVER YET AS THE WOMENS TEAM, THE SUCCESS STORY OF OUR SEASON, STILL HAVE 3 MORE GAMES TO PLAY AND THE SECOND OF THEM IS THE CAPITAL WOMENS SENIOR CUP FINAL AGAINST ASHFORD TOWN (MIDDLESEX). The Final will be played on the ground of Hendon FC - Silver Jubilee Park, Kingsbury, NW9 7NE - on Thursday 2nd May at 7.30pm. AND A MASSIVE TURN OUT OF OUR SUPPORTERS IS HOPED FOR. Before that they have a League game at Kings Lynn Town on 28th April and will finish their season with a visit to Royston Town on 5th May - second place being the target.
