NO GAME FOR BOROUGH........
Nov 6, 2010, 10:04 pm

.....BUT AN INTERESTING WEEKEND JUST THE SAME

Our season long ground share agreement has come to a premature end as Sporting London e Benfica feel they cannot struggle on any longer and have with drawn from the League.

Unfortunately, the withdrawal came too late to enable our cancelled away match at St. Margaretsbury to be reversed.

However, one unexpected immediate benefit was to be able to hire the ground to Kentish Town as the playability of their Copthall Stadium was in some doubt and they did us a favour by winning 1-0 against Leverstock Green thus preventing Green from climbing above us.

We fell only one place to 6th as Hillingdon Borough won their game to climb above us but we now have at least two games in hand on all the 5 teams above us.     Chalfont St. Peter and Tring Athletic continued on their merry way with victories, albeit only by the odd goal in both cases.

.........BOROUGH WILL VISIT A RYMANS PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB

Having just edged past fellow League members Cockfosters in the 2nd. Round of the London Senior Cup with a 2-1 win at Coles Park, Borough will visit Ryman Premier Divsion mid-table team CRAY WANDERERS on Tuesday 21st December     Cray play at the stadium of Blue Square South Club Bromley.

.........BOROUGH UP TO 5th

BOROUGH'S 6-1 win over Hatfield Town coupled with defeats for all the 5 teams immediately above them lifted Borough up to 5th place in the table.    They have at least 1 game in hand on the 4 teams above them but with Chalfont St. Peter winning their 15th consecutive League game to maintain their 100% record it would take a remarkable down turn in their fortunes for Borough or any of the other chasing pack to overhaul them.

......BOROUGH INTO QUARTER FINAL OF PREMIER DIVISION CUP

Two powerful drives by Luke Bryan in the first 10 minutes  put Borough in a strong position but it became a game of two halves as Broxbourne siezed the initiative after the interval and with better finishing might have pulled the game round but it was not until injury time that former Borough player Bradley Drisdale pulled one back.    In the quarter-final Borough will visit Langford who won 5-2 at home to Kentish Town

IMPROVED SECOND HALF PERFORMANCE PUTS BOROUGH......
Oct 23, 2010, 11:30 pm

...........UP ANOTHER PLACE

An odd goal in three victory at Stotfold - in the first ever meeting of the Clubs lifted Borough up to 10th and with between 1 and 4 games in hand on all the Clubs above them.

An early Daniel Ailey goal and a Brian Sealey penalty save were the first half highlights and Jamie Brandon slotted home the winner in the first minute of the second half.

FINE PERFORMANCE LIFTS .....

........BOROUGH UP TO 11th PLACE

Borough played some of their best football of the season as they returned victorious from Oxhey Jets Boundary Stadium for the second time this season.   Having won their Vase game last month they had to work harder this time to garner the points with the result in doubt until Boroughs stoppage time 3rd goal cemented the 3-1 win.     Borough climbed to 11th in the table and gave between one and four games in hand on all the teams above them.

MIDWEEK WIN LIFTS BOROUGH.....
Oct 13, 2010, 12:20 am

.........2 PLACES UP THE TABLE

With  only 8 teams in midweek action Borough's comfortable 3-0 win at home to Hadley who were evidently not at their strongest lifted Borough from 15th to 13th in the table and they still have between 1 and 4  games in hand on all other teams except one of those above them and one below.

Borough were not at their strongest either, and suffered from some late call offs, but a powerful header from Daniel Ailey two minutes from the interval and another midway through the second half put Borough in control and a deflected effort from Rakim Richards sealed victory.

BOROUGH STILL IN AN FA COMPETITION AS.....

.......BOROUGH WOMEN TRIUMPH IN MARATHON MATCH

A game which kicked off 15 minutes late as traffic problems delayed Borough's progress to the Worcester Park venue of Wandgas lasted 3 and a half hours - including a 45 minute injury stoppage as well as several shorter stoppages, extra time and a penalty shoot-out. Borough fought back from being 2 down at the interval to force extra time and came from behind again to end the match at 3-3 before slamming home their first four penalties to win this First Qualifying Round Womens FA Cup tie 4-2 on the shoot out and set up an away game with Mauritius Sports Association in the next round.
