Oct 3, 2010, 3:43 pm .......OUT OF THE VASE On Saturday 2nd October Tring Athletic visited Coles Park for the second time in less than a week and dumped Borough out of the FA Carlsberg Vase by 3-1 having left on Tuesday with the 3 League points through a 2-1 win. Borough played well in both games but the well organised and experienced visitors are unbeaten in League matches and have lost only one game this season at Wealdstone in the FA Cup Sep 22, 2010, 12:55 am .......THROUGH TO THE 2nd ROUND OF THE PREMIER DIVISION CUP Knock-out football clearly agrees with Borough as they notched up their third 5 goal haul in the space of 7 days. But while they were always in control of the first two games they were pushed all the way by St. Margaretsbury this time. After a goal-less first half Borough scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half through Jamie Brandon and an own goal forced by Miguel Martins surging run, only to throw away the lead in the next 15 minutes and then fall behind. Daniel Ailey's 89th minute penalty put them level but 5 minutes into extra time "The Bury" were ahead again as Joe Rudkin completed his hat-trick. Luke Bryan turned in Borough's equaliser before the half way point and another Daniel Ailey penalty in the 116th minute put Borough through to visit Broxbourne Borough in the 2nd Round as they won 2-1 at Biggleswade United, with both of their goals coming from former Borough players Bradley Drisdale and Murat Karagul. Sep 18, 2010, 11:10 pm .......THROUGH TO FIRST ROUND PROPER OF THE FA CARLSBERG VASE Borough dominated their second qualifying round tie at Oxhey Jets runnin up a three goal lead before conceding but then quickly adding two more to make the game safe with Oxhey just netting a late consolation. Filler report on Fixtures & Results page In the First Round Proper they will meet another Spartan South Midlands side - Tring Athletic at Coles park on 2nd october - just 4 days after the same Club's visit for a League match.
Sep 14, 2010, 11:51 pm ....... MUCH CHANGED TEAM SEES BOROUGH SAFELY THROUGH TO SECOND ROUND OF LEAGUE TROPHY Manager Tom Loizou took the opportunity to give starts to several players more accustomed to being on the bench and was rewarded with a confident winning performance against First Division visitors Ampthill Town with an upset never looking to be on the cards as they went down 5-1. Borough will entertain Premier Division Dunstable Town in the 2nd Round as they won 2-0 at home to Second Division Pitstone & Ivinghoe in the First Round Sep 11, 2010, 8:43 pm .......3 MORE POINTS LIFT BOROUGH TO 9th Two fine well weighted crosses by Harry Honesty set up Jamie Brandon and Daniel Ailey for a goal in each half which enabled Borough to edge home by the odd goal in three despite an unfortunate own goal equaliser for the visitors just before the interval. But it was not a match that will linger long in anyones memory
Sep 9, 2010, 11:38 pm .......BOROUGH DROP TO 11th Saturdays defeat by Aylesbury United coupled with our being one of only three teams without a mid-week fixture and results elsewhere has pushed us back to 11th. But we have from one to three games in hand on 8 of the 10 Clubs above us. Chalfont St. Peter seem to have set down the front runners marker with a 100% record after 7 games and also have the best goal difference. Tring Athletic are chasing hard and are also unbeaten but have dropped four points from two draws. At the wrong end of the table it is an unusual sight to see win-less Harefield United propping it up after so many seasons of promotion near-misses but they seem to have suffered from a mass departure of their erstwhile regulars. Neither is it customary to see Broxbourne Borough in a relegation position. Sep 1, 2010, 12:40 pm .........BOROUGH UP TO 6th PLACE Tuesday evening's comprehensive 3-0 win at home to Harefield United - courtesy of 2 first half goals from Daniel Ailey and a late effort from Luke Bryan lifted Borough to 6th place in the table with a game or more in hand of 4 of the 5 Clubs above them.
