..............BOROUGH OUT OF THE FA CUP

Burnham Ramblers emphatically ended Borough's interest in this seasons FA Cup as a much changed Borough rear guard crumbled to send  the team in  five down at the interval.   A disappointing outcome as the fine performance of the previous round had raised realistic hopes of a financially rewarding run.     Fuller report on "Fixtures & Results" page.

Despite being three up at the interval against a team reduced to ten men Borough were kept at full stretch throughout the second half but justed edge home at the Middlesex Stadium against erstwhile League leaders Hillingdon Borough whose 100% record from their first four games was ended by Haringey's 3-2 win.

LONDON SENIOR CUP DRAW ANNOUNCED

We have drawn a bye in the First Round of the London Senior Cup.    Our Second Round opponents (at Coles Park) will be either COCKFOSTERS of our own League or LEWISHAM BOROUGH (COMMUNITY) FC of the Kent County League.

If we make the Third Round we will be away to Cray Wanderers of the Rymans Premier League and survival of that test would see us visiting either REDBRIDGE or LEYTON or TOOTING and MITCHAM UNITED in the Quarter Finals.  A Semi Final tie would also be away from home.

............A GOOD PERFORMANCE EARNS NO REWARD

Two moments of controversy where both decisions went against Borough  (i.e business as usual)  cost us a point or 3 in our openinhg game with visiting Dunstable Town;   although our own lacklustre finishing also played as big a part in the outcome.    Fuller report in "Fixtures and Results" Section.

.........HOME DRAWS A-PLENTY IN LEAGUE'S KNOCK OUT COMPETITIONS

Borough enjoyed favourable draws in both the League Trophy and the Premier Division Cup

In the TROPHY they could go to the quarter final without leaving Coles Park.  Their First Round opponents will be AMPTHILL TOWN of Division One.  Success would bring a visit from either DUNSTABLE TOWN (Premier Division) or PITSTONE and IVINGHOE (Division 2) and if they reach the Third Round their visitors would be THE 61FC (Division 2) or HAREFIELD UNITED (Premier Division) or PADBURY UNITED (Division 2).  Any Quarter Final or Semi Final tie would be away from home.

In the PREMIER DIVISION CUP they will be visited by ST. MARGARETSBURY in the First Round.   Success would see any further games away from home - at either BIGGLESWADE UNITED or BROXBOURNE BOROUGH in the second round  and at LANGFORD or KENTISH TOWN in the Quarter Final.  A Semi final tie would be away from home.
