But they left their shooting boots in the changing rooms and after spurning several opportunities to put the game beyond reach had to rely on the defence for a solid performance in the last 25 minutes after Hertford pulled one back But it all ended well..... .....Borough are 9 points ahead of the Clubs occupying the relegation spots with games in hand on both of them .....Borough's 21 points total leaves only a 4 point gap with 2 games in hand on the Club immediately above them .....Borough's undefeated run was extended to 4 games .....Borough have collected 10 points from the possible last 12 .....Borough completed their first "double" of the season (fuller report under "Fixtures & Results")
Feb 13, 2010, 11:33 pm THREE MORE POINTS & HIGHEST SCORE OF THE SEASON Switching the match to our opponents ground owing to the doubts surrounding the playability of Coles Park proved to be a worthwhile exercise as Borough romped to their highest score of the season on the fine Recreation Ground surface. Lloyd Opara was the executioner in chief with a hat-trick (another first of the season for Borough) and Adam Scotcher was also on target for the second week running. But it was not all plain sailing as Borough conceded a soft goal after ten minutes or so and did not get back on terms until a minute from the interval. But the second half belonged to Borough. Fuller report in "Fixtures & Results" Section Feb 6, 2010, 10:09 pm ..............ANOTHER PRECIOUS POINT After a poor opening half which saw them 1-3 down at the interval, such was the domination of Borough in the later stages of the second half which brought two well deserved goals that they left Forde park feeling that 2 points had been lost rather than one gained. Adam Scotcher took only seven minutes to open his scoring account after being signed the day previously but that was already just an equaliser following a soft opening goal for Langford. Borough remain third from bottom but the draw lifted Borough three points clear of their nearest rivals Kentish Town who lost 3-0 at Chalfont St. Peter and they have a game in hand on them and a vastly superior goal difference
Jan 30, 2010, 9:38 pm BOROUGH OUT OF RELEGATION ZONE BOROUGH finally got to play a League match - their first since December 5th - and returned with a hard earned 1-0 victory from Biggleswade United's Second Meadow ground. The win lifted them above Kentish Town and to within 5 points of United with 3 games in hand of them. Lee Allen, signed the day before the match, slammed home the second half winner. Bottom Positions are now Hillingdon Borough P 21 19 pts Biggleswade United P 22 19 pts BOROUGH P 19 14 pts Kentish Town P 20 12 pts

Their semi-final victims were the hitherto unbeaten L.O.A.S.S (in full - The Leyton Orient Advanced Soccer School no less !) and Borough's determined performance which included a Terrell Hunter hat-trick saw them through the semi-final tie by a 4-0 margin A fuller report and Team Sheet can be found IN the "FIXTURES AND RESULTS" Section of the website The final will be held on Sunday March 7th (2.30pm kick off) at a venue as yet unknown and their opponents will be either Manford Way or Redbridge Youth
Jan 20, 2010, 8:46 pm AMENDED DATE - next weeks midweek game with Royston Town will now take place at Coles Park on THURSDAY 28th JANUARY not Tuesday 26th as originally scheduled Jan 20, 2010, 8:42 pm We are delighted to be able to anounce having secured the registration of DEWAYNE CLARKE who has represented JAMAICA and boasts an impressive c.v with Rotherham United among his past Clubs as well as Dulwich Hamlet, Boston United, Cheshunt (where he played at a time when our manager Tom Loizou was in charge there), Waltham Forest and - most recently - Harrow Borough Borough's problem this season has been converting promising approach work into goals and with Dewayne now in tandem again with Lloyd Opara we are confident that opponents nets will bulge more often and that a successful climb to safety will soon begin. |
