ON THE BOTTOM - BUT NOT FOR LONG
Sep 2, 2009, 12:32 am

Borough's defeat by Kingsbury London Tigers on Tuesday evening (25th August) sent us to the foot of the table.  A not unfamiliar habitat over the years !      But our tenancy on this occasion was pleasingly brief as a fine 2-0 win over Hertford Town the following Saturday lifted us above both Kentish Town and Hanwell Town who were in FA Cup action, although Hanwell do have a game in hand on us.

FIRST TEAM GET TOUGH LEAGUE KNOCK OUT COMPETITION DRAWS
Aug 5, 2009, 11:32 pm

In the Spartan South Midlands League Trophy, Borough have been drawn AWAY to HERTFORD TOWN in the First Round to be played on Tuesday September 8th (FA Vase replays permitting).   If they survive that test then they would face either DUNSTABLE TOWN or TRING ATHLETIC at Coles Park in the 2nd Round. Progress would see them away in the 3rd Round, at Home in the Quarter-final and away in the Semi-final

Their only easy Draw is in the Premier Division Cup in which they have been given a First Round bye.     In the 2nd Round they will be AWAY to either LANGFORD or KINGSBURY LONDON TIGERS.  Victory there would see them travel to either ROYSTON TOWN, DUNSTABLE TOWN, HILLINGDON BOROUGH or HAREFIELD UNITED in the Quarter-final.   A semi-final tie would be at HOME

BOROUGH WOMEN GET TOUGH CUP DRAWS
Jul 30, 2009, 1:56 pm

Borough Women now know their opponents in the early rounds of the three knock out competitions entered.

In the FA WOMENS CUP   they have a bye in the Preliminary Round and will be at home to WANDGAS who finished 3rd in the London & South East Regional League Premier Division last season on Sunday 27th September.

In the EASTERN REGION WOMENS LEAGUE CUP   history has repeated itself as they will visit WOODBRIDGE TOWN in the First Round on October 4th and that will be an early opportunity to avenge the defeat suffered at Notcutt Park in last seasons Quarter Final tie.     If they get past “The Woodpeckers” then another difficult away tie awaits as they will visit either CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY or HUNTINGDON TOWN and the University who won the Competition last season are obviously favourites to win their First Round match.

In the LONDON WOMENS CUP   Borough visit HAMPSTEAD of the Greater London League in the First Round on October 18th.   Victory would most likely result in a local derby with TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR of the South East Combination who will start as favourites in their First Round tie with HACKNEY, also of the Greater London League.    If Spurs are defeated then a National League side – either ARSENAL or WEST HAM UNITED will visit Coles Park for a  semi-final game.

BOROUGH GET HOME DRAWS IN COUNTY CUP
Jul 11, 2009, 1:42 pm

 LONDON SENIOR CUP DRAW ANNOUNCED

BOROUGH could go right through to the semi-final of their County Cup without leaving Coles Park.     They have been drawn at home in the first 4 rounds and there are no replays.

In the First Round (probable date Tuesday October 6th)  they have been drawn at home to ERITH & BELVEDERE of the Bulmers Cider Kent League.

Victory over "The Deres" would then see them entertain the winner of the game between fellow Spartan Leaguers KINGSBURY LONDON TIGERS and FISHER FC - the club just risen from the ashes of Fisher Athletic the former Blue Square South Club and also now playing at Step 5 in the Bulmers Cider Kent League

Further success would result in a visit from CRAY WANDERERS of the Rymans League Division One South in the Third Round.

Success in that would secure a quarter final game against the winners of the third round match between WELLING UNITED of the Blue Square South League or CROYDON ATHLETIC, another Rymans Division One South Club.

If they reached the semi-final, BOROUGH would be the away team.

The full draw is on the London FA website to which there is a link from our site (see left column)
